
Advisory Group:
The Tower Terrace Road Advisory Group held its first meeting on Nov. 13th, 2007. The Advisory Group has had three meetings to discuss the Planning Area, a draft Plan Vision Statement, and a set of Working Plan Goals.
Advisory Group members were selected from Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Linn County, Marion, and Robins. Members also represent a mix of skills and expertise including, planners, administrators, engineers, and policy-makers.

Corridor Management Planning Area:
An important first step in the development of this Plan is to identify the planning boundary. The boundary represents the area and properties that are the focus of the Plan. The Advisory Group established a planning boundary for this project of approximately 600’ on either side of the current and future Tower Terrace Road. If any portion of an individual property falls within the 600’ boundary, the entire property was included.

Draft Vision Statement:
The Advisory Group created a draft Vision Statement for the future Corridor.
In 2040, the Tower Terrace Road Corridor will be:
“A regionally significant transportation corridor that benefits all stakeholders and accommodates each mode of transportation in a coordinated fashion that is safe, efficient, effective, and aesthetically and environmentally friendly.”
