Tower Terrace Road Corridor Management Plan

The Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization (Corridor MPO) has initiated the process of creating a Corridor Management Plan for the future and existing Tower Terrace Road Corridor. The Corridor MPO began this process at the request of member communities and policy-makers. The purpose of this plan is two-fold.

1. To coordinate both land use and transportation needs within the Corridor.
2. To establish clear, uniform guidelines to be consistently applied by the five affected jurisdictions of Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Linn County, Marion, and Robins throughout the Corridor.

Public Participation will drive the development of this Corridor Management Plan. Corridor MPO created a two-part public involvement process, consisting of an Advisory Group and Stakeholder Group. The Advisory Group held its first meeting on Nov. 13th, 2007. The Stakeholder Group held its first meeting on Dec. 18th, 2007.

• The Advisory Group consists of elected officials, appointed representatives, engineers, and planners.

• The Stakeholder Group consists of affected property owners, business owners, developers, economic development groups, environmental groups, and any other interested citizens, organizations, or groups.
